All personal hygiene items you regularly use*

  • make a supply for the whole duration of your trip – the branded quality products are not available in Cuba and you will probably not like the quality of the ones you can purchase there!

Medical & First Aid Kit + any prescribed medications

  • medicines are also difficult to acquire in Cuba (unless you are in a tourist resort), as pharmacies are scarce and their supplies are low, the only widely accessible medicaments are the herbal ones

Clothing and footwear

  • you might need a sweater, a light jacket and tall pants during slightly cooler evenings in the ‘winter’ months, and also on ViAzul buses where the air-conditioning is often set to freezing

Please note that the choice in the Cuban shops is poor, so if you forget something, you will probably have to do without it for the rest of your trip. When you enter any shop, you will understand the meaning of the word shortage. Please consider giving away any item you can easily purchase once you are back to your country before you set off for the airport. Your Cuban friends will appreciate a lot any products that are in demand (e.g. medicines and cosmetics, technical devices and batteries).
